Tell us about your projects for next winter: filming, photo shooting, traveling…?
The main big project I’m working at the moment is Salomon Freeski TV. We are doing a lot of planning right now and it’s pretty exciting to be thinking about all the cool places we’re going to get to ski on the show.
What do you think of the new generation with talented riders like Simon, Charles, Sammy? What’s coming next in the Freestyle evolution?
The young guys are insane. Following them around all winter leaves me wishing I was 20 years younger. They always have a lot of fun. I’m not sure what’s next… maybe more switch pipe riding and tight pants. I can’t wait to see
Tell us a few words about the new Freeski range? What do you like the most in these new skis?
The range is the most complete it’s ever been. We now have a ski for everyone. I’m really excited about the new rocker technology. We didn’t rush this ski to the market – we made sure we had something new to offer that is better than what is already out there.
What your evolution as a rider, especially towards Freestyle backcountry?
I love freestyle in the backcountry, it’s super fun and doesn’t hurt. I just want to keep doing it for as long as I can. My goal is to do a D Spin at 40.
Who is Mike beside sking: where and how do you live? What are your other passions and hobbies?
I live in Whistler and I live like a king. The only bad thing that’s happened lately was when my butler left the staff door of the mansion open and my pet python got out and strangled, then ate, the neighbors dog. They were pissed.
