Colorado, especially Aspen, has been getting absolutely pounded with snow lately. Mother Nature decided to let up today and the weather was sunny and balmy at Buttermilk Mountain for the Slopestyle Qualifiers of this year’s Aspen Open. Over 300 competitors showed up to try their luck on the actual X Games Slopestyle course. The conditions were perfect and the field was narrowed down to thirty- five men to compete in tomorrow’s final.

 

It was a great day for the Salomon team with just about every athlete on the team advancing to finals. These athletes include Alexis Godbout with a solid qualifying run seeding him second, Matt Walker, Mike Clarke, Nick Martini and Andrew Hathaway. The ladies will join in the fun for tomorrow starting with a semi final in the morning. Meg Olenick is hoping to take the gold at her home mountain after placing second in last year’s event.
