SALOMON WINS WOMEN'S AND MEN'S SLOPE
11.02.2008

...and the bronze medals in each as well! Team Salomon threw down today at the Aspen Open. The women’s heats went straight to finals this morning with each girl getting three runs to show her stuff. Keri Herman was crazy consistent through every run busting huge cork 5’s over the money booter, earning herself a gold medal. “ I just love BIG jumps!” was all Keri could say when she found out she won. Meg Olenick showed similar consistency earning high scores on the rails and placed third overall. Anna Segal placed second.

For the men, this is huge win for local Colorado resident, Matt Walker. Matt ran this course just two weeks ago as a slopestyle alternate for his teammate, Simon Dumont, at the X Games. Everything came together for him today and both of his runs were flawless, with huge spins both ways. Matt has been balancing his training with filming for Poor Boyz and his hard work definitely paid off today. Second place went to Tom Wallisch and the bronze medal to Alexis Godbout. Alexis had some trouble on his first run but over came the pressure to throw down in his second and final run.

The Salomon team will take a well- deserved week off and be back for the Nippon Open, North American Open and the North Carolina Jib Academy coming at the end of this month.
