Salomon USA Jib Academy Tour 2009

Young freestylers around the country, rejoice. Salomon is proud to announce our partner resorts for the 2009 Jib Academy Tour: Seven Springs, Loon Mtn and Echo. After a hugely successful Tour in 2008 which included Spirit Mtn (these kids know how to limbo), Sno Mtn (skiers are definitely not afraid of a little rain) Mt. Hood Meadows (some serious NW talent) and Appalachian Ski Mtn (these guys define freestyle in the South), the Salomon pro team is ready to meet some new faces and teach some new tricks.

Live in Tennessee and your parents won’t drive you to Loon? No problem. Salomon will be offering five extra spots to the Final at Mammoth Mountain with the introduction of the online Jib Academy contest!
The Salomon Team will choose five North American athletes to join the winners of Seven Springs, Loon and Echo based on a video edit entry. Please see the online contest rules page for more information.

The Jib Academy global final will be held at Mammoth Mountain again in May, 2009. Finalists will get to live the ultimate dream as they ski, film and chill with the entire Salomon International Team including Simon Dumont, Mark Abma, Kaya Turski, Charles Gagnier, Mike Douglas and Sammy Carlson.

The USA Salomon Jib Academy Tour for 2009 is:

February 7th- Seven Springs, Pennsylvania
February 14th- Loon Mountain, New Hampshire
March 28th - Echo Mountain, Colorado.

What is Jib Academy?

The Salomon Jib Academy is a global tour of slopestyle ski events for athletes 16 years old and younger. Participants ski in groups all morning with a Salomon pro coach learning new tricks and meeting other skiers. In the afternoon there is a 10-12 person final jam session where tons of great prizes will be given out including the Grand Prize trip to Mammoth Mountain for the Jib Academy Final. Jib Academies are rider judged and all levels of freestylers are encouraged to participate. There is no entry fee. Athletes must provide a lift ticket and helmet.
