Salomon and Team GB skier, James “Woodsy” Woods takes to the podium in first place at the men's U.S. Grand Prix Freeskiing event at Copper Mountain, Colorado, on Sunday 13th January. Sheffield slopestyle star Woodsy, claimed his second consecutive FIS World Cup win of the season by utilising bib number one and the last-run honours that go along with it to drop in and give the best run of the day to finish off the entire weekend.
Woods' run was a lesson in technical competition skiing, and by the time he stomped his right-side double cork 1260 truck driver-grab over the last jump, he had completed some 12 full rotations on his way through the Copper park.
He also won the season-opening World Cup event in Argentina in September - becoming the first Briton to win a World Cup on snow in eight years. This second win at Copper Mountain puts Woodsy into 2nd place in the AFP Slopestyle World Rankings and virtually guarantees qualification for next year's Sochi Winter Olympics, where slopestyle will appear for the first time.
