DUMONT AND TURSKI CLAIM GOLD AT DEW10/01/2009
After a frustrating first stop in Breckenridge, Simon Dumont charged the pipe tonight in Mt Snow, winning the Men’s Ski Halfpipe competition. Dumont’s first run exemplified his signature amplitude and style and earned him a 91.5 to put him in first place. Tanner Hall, Justin Dorey, Mike Riddle and Tucker Perkins kept the stakes high and all threw down solid runs on Simon’s heels. The Dumont took it up a notch on his 2nd and final run going equally if not bigger on his third hit and finishing strong with a 94. This was enough to seal the deal and Simon has his first Dew Tour win under his belt going in to the X Games in two weeks.
Meanwhile, on the women’s slope course, Kaya Turski proved yet again that she is back and better than ever. Stomping both of her runs with many technical rail tricks and solid switch 7s, this is Kaya’s second Dew Tour win. She will join Simon and the rest of the team in Aspen for the X Games where Women’s Slopestyle will be an event for the first time in X history. Kaya will be back in Breckenridge training for the week as Simon heads to Utah to fine tune his X Games run. Congrats to the whole Salomon team including Alexis Godbout, 3rd place in Men’s Slopestyle, Sammy Carlson, 4th place in Slope and Bobby Brown, 7th in Slope and Breckenridge Dew Tour Slope winner.
See you in Aspen!
