After several days of perfect training conditions, the ladies of Winter X Slopestyle were forced to battle Mother Nature in Saturday’s competition. Luckily, the women won and Winter X will make ladies’ slopestyle a staple for years to come.

Anna Segal was out of the gate first and threw down a solid run that incorporated all of the jumps. Many athletes were having trouble with speed and opted out of various features. Anna’s first run was enough to hold her in the top spot for the entire competition and eventually translated in to gold.

Fresh off of two consecutive wins in the Winter Dew Tour, Salomon’s Kaya Turski proved that she is back and feeling good. Kaya’s technical rail tricks up top scored her well and her massive spin off the last kicker was the ultimate crowd pleaser as Kaya skied out switch on one ski down the entire landing! Kaya has won her first of what will be many X Games medals, with a third place finish. Everyone’s favorite Midwestern Norwegian, Grete Eliassen, edged out Kaya for silver by one point with smooth style and a nice 7 off of the last jump. Salomon’s Keri Herman and Megan Olenick placed 4th and 5th respectively.

Great job to all the women for competing in harrowing conditions and showing the world that women skiers are meant to be on the slopestyle course at X Games!
