Jib Academy is back in session for a 5th Season! No trapper keepers or calculator’s required and no one will steal your lunch money. Well, maybe Nick Martini will.
The 2011 US Salomon Jib Academy will have an East Coast and West Coast stop plus a girls’ only contest!
Like last year, we will offer a spot to Mammoth based on our online contest for those of you who can’t make it out for the action.
Need a reminder of what Salomon Jib Academy is all about? The tour is a series of slopestyle contests for athletes 16 and under. Jib Academies are rider judged, free to enter and have tons of great prizes. The best part is meeting and shredding with the Salomon pro coaches at some of the best terrain parks in the world.
This year’s US stops will have other mini contests built in to the day so athletes of all ages can participate. Rumored coaches this year are Nick Martini, our first ever Jib Academy winner (fun fact), plus Sammy Carlson, Matt Walker, Tommy Ellingson, Bobby Brown and Cody Ling. X Games Silver Medalist Keri Herman will be holding it down for the ladies. Mike Douglas is known to make an appearance or two at Jib Academy as well. Just chant “D-Spin” and he usually appears.
This year’s stops are Whaleback, New Hampshire on Sunday, March 6th and Mt. Bachelor, Oregon on Saturday, April 9th.
The girl’s event will be in conjunction with the Whaleback stop. Each winner will be heading to Mammoth Mountain, California for a dream week with the whole Salomon team.
Registration will open on January 4th
